About Mel Martinez ’23
Mel Martinez moved to the U.S. at 19 with a clear goal and big dreams. Today, working in higher education is one of those goals Mel is proud to have achieved. Originally from Bolivia, Mel graduated from Stephens College with a Business degree and now works in the Student Experience department, assisting students as they navigate their own college journeys. As a first-generation international student, Mel understands the challenges of adjusting to a new culture and enjoys supporting students as they find their place at Stephens.
Outside of work, Mel can often be found playing soccer, exploring new foods, or embarking on spontaneous trips. Bilingual in Spanish and English, Mel occasionally mixes both languages, a habit that happens more often than they’d like to admit. Stephens College has truly become Mel’s second home, and they are excited to be part of this community, helping others along the way.
