
About Megan Blakemore
Dr. Blakemore is a dedicated Physician Assistant with a passion for patient care and education. Dr. Blakemore has a wealth of experience as an Army Medic and as a physician assistant with over 17 years of experience working in cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, and plastic surgery at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital.
Her mission is to bridge the gap between clinical practice and education, equipping students with the skills they need to excel in their careers.
Dr. Blakemore earned Doctor of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Missouri State University, and a B.S. In Biology at the University of New Mexico.
As the Program Director and Associate Professor Dr. Blakemore teaches courses in Anatomy, Clinical Medicine, Clinical Skills, Case-Based Medicine, Leadership, Healthcare Administration, and Professional Practice. She is an active member in several professional organizations to include MOAPA, AAPA, AAPA Veterans Caucus, and VPAA.
Her research interests include advocating for and advancing physician assistants in leadership and management opportunities. As well as advocating for physician assistants who serve in the Armed Forces and the uniformed services.
Dr. Blakemore is also the Director at Large for the Mid-Missouri MOAPA region advocating for PAs in Missouri.
