About Shannon Blankenship Walls ’93

Shannon Blankenship Walls ’93 serves as the Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Board of Trustees at Stephens College. In this executive leadership role, she works closely with the President to advance the College’s strategic priorities and ensure smooth, effective operations across campus. Shannon acts as a key liaison among senior leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners, helping align institutional initiatives with strategic goals.

As Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Shannon plays a critical role in maintaining clear communication between the Board and the College’s administration and ensures compliance with bylaws and best practices in nonprofit governance.

Known for her professionalism, discretion, and collaborative spirit, Shannon brings extensive experience in executive leadership, strategic planning, and higher education administration. She is deeply committed to the success of Stephens College and its students.

Shannon earned a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts from Stephens, and she began working at the College in 1995.

Shannon is married to Dick, a retired Columbia restaurateur. Together, they enjoy traveling and spending time with their dogs, Boone and Brody. They are avid fans of the Missouri Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals and Stephens Stars, and they frequent many of the local restaurants and arts organizations in Columbia.
