Academic Clubs & Honor Societies
SLATE
SLATE is an organization that welcomes students of all majors who have a passion for education and working with children! We have an emphasis on advocating for and supporting those interested in education, as well as the Children’s School on campus. Throughout the year, we host events for college students as well as Children’s School students, fostering a love of education.
Collegiate DECA
Collegiate DECA is a student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. It provides opportunities for collegiate students to engage in innovative learning experiences, competitions, and networking with professionals in their fields. Members can enhance their skills through workshops, conferences, and collaboration with peers, ultimately preparing them for success in their future careers. Stephens College chapter aims to help women in business thrive and gain confidence in a male dominated world!
Tri-Beta Honor Society
Tri-Beta is the on-campus biological honors society here at Stephens College. Our goal is to improve the understanding and appreciation of the biological studies through collaborative events, outreach programs, undergraduate research, external relations, and interpersonal communication. This organization also acts as a means to facilitate continuous support to all active members and to ensure their success in the biological sciences!
Sigma Eta Rho Honor Society
The purpose of Sigma Eta Rho Health Science Honor Society shall be to function as an honor and professional society for students of the health sciences. Its activities shall be designed to stimulate interest, scholarly attainment, and investigation in the health sciences, and to promote the dissemination of information and new interpretations among students of the life sciences.
Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society
Sigma Tau Delta is an International English Honor Society. The Society strives to confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. Sigma Tau Delta provides cultural stimulation on college campuses and promotes interest in literature and the English language in surrounding communities, fosters all aspects of the discipline of English, promotes exemplary character and good fellowship among its members, exhibits high standards of academic excellence, and serves society by fostering literacy.

Spiritual Groups
Chi Alpha
Chi Alpha Campus Ministries is a Christian campus ministry on universities throughout the United States and around the world. Our mission is to reconcile students to Christ, equipping them through Spirit-filled communities of prayer, worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission to transform the university, the marketplace and the world.
Sacred Souls
Sacred Souls is a club that allows people who practice various spiritualities or are simply curious to come together and connect. The club explores different spiritualities/practices such as Paganism, Wiccan, open African spiritualities, various indigenous practices, etc. Sacred Souls is run by students who grew up with a diverse spiritual background to ensure authentic and appropriate experience.
Spiritual Susies
A group of spiritual students who practice and honor the metaphysical. From tarot to solstices, this club provides an environment for all things unorthodox and esoteric! We welcome beginners and masters alike, teaching and reveling in the spiritual.

Special Interest
Poets of Infinity
In Poets of Infinity, we strive to spark creativity with reading, writing, and exploring poetry from all over. In this laid-back club, we are able to explore our love of writing while helping others expand their knowledge of poetry. We want to give students to chance to indulge in the poetic form and gain the courage to try it out themselves or broaden their love of poetry that already exists.
Warehouse Theatre Company
Established in 1973, the Warehouse Theatre Company is a student-governed theatre company working in cooperation with the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Stephens College and Stephens College to provide unique educational opportunities for members to participate in all aspects of theatre production and management. The Warehouse fosters freedom of material and vision by producing original scripts, avant-garde pieces, and socially poignant works which, more often than not, highlight women’s issues and experiences.
Stephens Paranormal Investigation (SPI)
Stephens Paranormal Investigation (SPI) is a club focused on everything paranormal and spooky. We aim to investigate on and off campus haunted locations using electromagnetic technology. We also have other events for those less interested in in-person investigation, including movie nights and Buzzfeed Unsolved/Watcher nights! If you’re interested in making friends and hunting ghosts, join us!
Innovative Fashion Association (IFA)
Innovative Fashion Association is a club that focuses on fashion at Stephens and encourages the passion in others! IFA hosts clothing swaps, creative work night, and many other fashion forward events.
Rainbow Alliance
A club aimed to give LGBTQ+ students (and allies) a community of their own on campus! We aim to create a safe space and focus on community outreach. The Rainbow Alliance is always here to lend support!
Black Women Enlightened (BWE)
Provide representation for black women on campus and make an impact within and outside the community
Tabletop Gaming Society
A fun and engaging way to unwind, meet new friends, and challenge your mind! Whether you’re a fan of strategic games, party games, or classic favorites, there’s something for everyone. We welcome all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players. Our goal is to create a relaxed, friendly environment where students can come together, build connections, and have a great time over a variety of tabletop games.
Design Collective
The design collective was created to give students a creative outlet and to expose our student body to what life can be like as a designer.
Prince of Wales Riding Club
The purpose of the PWC is to bring all students interested together to share their love and appreciation of the horse. The students engage in educational opportunities, community events such as horse shows and equine showcases, as well as planning events within the club for members and/or the Stephens community that help to bring the purpose of horses and the benefits of equine related activities to people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to be around them.

Leadership Opportunities
The Student Programming Council (SPC)
The Student Programming Council (SPC), works with the Assistant Director of Student Experience, to create fun activities and maintain standing traditions like Midnight Breakfast, Halloween Party and Spring Formal. The goal of SPC is to deliver social and cultural programs to create a sense of belonging and community for all students. All students are welcome to join the Student Programming Council and help create and promote their campus experience.
Student Government Association (SGA)
The purpose of the Stephens College Student Government Association is to ensure the rights and freedoms of the Student Body are upheld through governance and to examine and instate the necessary changes that reflect the desires and needs of the students in Stephens College policies and programs. Furthermore, the Stephens College Student Government Association allocates funds for recognized student organizations and campus improvements.

Campus Traditions
Honors Convocation
Honors Convocation recognizes outstanding students, faculty and alumnae with awards, scholarships and honors each spring.
The Ten Ideals
Inherent in the culture of Stephens College is the tradition of the Ten Ideals (originated in 1921). The Ten Ideals are a set of 10 core values that enrich and inspire the lives of Stephens students. The Ten are also a secret group of 10 students selected by the previous year’s Ten for their personification of individual ideals. The Ten are revealed at Honors Convocation each year.
Crossing the Bridge
Each fall, new students cross the bridges at the heart of the Stephens campus to the welcoming cheers of fellow students and the campus community. Each spring, graduating students cross those bridges in the opposite direction, joining the community of 30,000+ alumni, many of whom are gathered at the base of the bridge to celebrate the newest class of Stephens graduates.
Midnight Breakfast
Hosted by our Student Programming Council, Midnight Breakfast is an annual tradition that invites students to take a break from studying for finals. Faculty and staff connect with students during the last week of the semester by serving late-night breakfast in Stamper Commons.
