About Christopher Evans
Chris brings a commitment to hands-on, concept-driven design training rooted in professional practice. His work as a scenic, lighting, and projection designer spans theatre, dance, and immersive performance, with a focus on abstraction and media integration as contemporary tools for storytelling. His credits include Yale Rep, Connecticut Rep, Tulsa Ballet, Zach Theatre, and Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park. His work has been recognized by organizations such as KCACTF and the Las Vegas Stagecraft Institute, and he has held technical and design support roles along the East Coast, including Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Downtown New York.
At Stephens, Evans draws on his experience to help students develop original visual languages, master digital and analog tools, and prepare for careers in the evolving landscape of live entertainment.
Evans holds an M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama and a B.F.A. from the University of Central Oklahoma.
