About Courtney Crouse ’04
During his three decades in the industry, Courtney has performed in, directed and/or produced more than100 productions. Chicago and regional directing credits include Altar Boyz, Rock of Ages, Cabaret, Million Dollar Quartet, Mamma Mia!, Always Patsy Cline, Big Fish, Big River, A Christmas Carol, Pump Boys and Dinettes. Chicago and regional acting credits include South Pacific, Route 66, Grease, Altar Boyz, Jekyll&Hyde, Big River, Violet, Chicago PD, Chess, Million Dollar Quartet, Mary Poppins, Evita, Urinetown, 1776, Hair, Anything Goes. Courtney has been nominated for the Joseph Jefferson Award four times, winning twice for both leading and supporting actor in a musical. As a director, he was nominated for best direction of a musical for A Marvin Hamlisch Songbook, a show written and conceived entirely by Crouse and his colleague, Aaron Benham. He currently serves as the Artistic Director for the Clinton Area Showboat Theater in Clinton, Iowa. Courtney is a proud member of SDC and AEA.
