Submitting your deposit is just the beginning. Use this checklist to complete everything you need before you arrive on campus. We’re with you every step of the way.

Set up Your Stephens College Email
Check your inbox for an email from Stephens College Admissions. It contains everything you need to activate your Stephens email account. This will be your primary communication channel throughout your time here, so start checking it regularly.
Haven’t received it yet? Contact your Admissions Counselor to have it resent.
Register for STARt Day
STARt Day is your launchpad for a confident first semester. You’ll register for classes, get your Student ID, tour the residence halls, meet fellow incoming students, and more. Parents are welcome and will have their own programming.
Parents are encouraged to attend and will follow their own specially designed program.
STARt Days for the 2026-27 academic year were held June 3, 10, and 17.
If you were unable to attend a STARt Day, please contact your admissions counselor—we’re happy to get you ready for the semester!
Submit Your Final Transcripts and Test Scores
Your academic records are an important part of completing your enrollment. Request your final high school transcript and/or any previous college transcripts and have them sent directly to Stephens.
If you earned AP or Dual Credit scores, send those transcripts or score reports to admissions@stephens.edu.
Deadline: Before the first day of classes
Apply for Campus Housing
Stephens is a residential campus, and living on campus makes a meaningful difference in your experience and academic success. Apply early — housing assignments are made based on your deposit date.
Move-In Day will be Thursday, August 20, 2026!
Living Off Campus?
Freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus unless they meet specific exemption criteria. If you believe you qualify, review the requirements and submit an appeal.
Exemptions include:
- Students living with a parent or grandparent within Boone County (address verification required)
- Students who are 24 years of age or older (proof of age required)
- Students who are married (marriage license required)
- Students who have dependent children living with them
Please note: Our financial aid packages are structured with the assumption that students live on campus. Institutional aid may be reduced by $10,000 if you choose to live off campus.
Looking for a Roommate?
Please fill out the Roommate Profile information through eRezLife. This information will be used to help connect you with the possible roommates. Only those students who have completed an application form will be able to view this information.

Review Pet Programs & Register Your Pet
Bringing a pet?
Students who are living in pet-friendly housing (Searcy Hall or Tower Hall) may bring a pet to campus. You may also apply to foster a pet through the Stephens College partnership with Columbia Second Chance.
NOTE: Starting college and adjusting to residential life can be a big transition. Caring for a pet at the same time adds additional responsibility. Please take some time to consider whether both you and your pet are ready for.

Submit Health Forms
Immunizations and Records Information
Please upload a copy of Student’s Immunization and Vaccination Records – must include proof of MMR and Meningococcal Meningitis along with immunization dates. Please also include information about any other vaccines the student has received.
Stephens College requires all students to provide proof of immunization for measles/mumps/rubella (MMR). This includes those living on- or off-campus, full- or part-time, and non-degree seeking. Two vaccinations are required. Requirement is waived if student was born before December 31, 1956.
Stephens College also recommends the COVID-19 vaccine, Hepatitis B series, Varicella vaccine (if student has not had Chicken Pox) and an up to date tetanus.
Missouri State Law requires all students living in residence halls to be vaccinated against Meningococcal Meningitis. Stephens College requires all students to provide proof of immunization for measles/mumps/rubella (MMR).
Please upload documentation from your high school, doctor, or other health care provider of compliance with these requirements.
Under 18?
A parent or guardian must complete a Consent for Treatment of Minor in Health Services Form before your first day of classes.
Register for Classes
New students register for classes at STARt Day.
If you were unable to attend a STARt Day, your admissions counselor will help coordinate your registration. If you are unsure of your counselor, reach out to admissions@stephens.edu.
Accept/Decline Financial Aid & Loans
Once your FAFSA is processed, review your financial aid award letter carefully. Reach out to our Financial Aid team with any questions about your package.
Complete the Navigating Stephens Onboarding Course
Navigating Stephens is your online orientation through Canvas.
Complete it before the semester begins to get familiar with campus resources, policies, and everything you need to hit the ground running. Access instructions are included in your Stephens Account Information email.
Important Steps to complete through the Navigating Stephen course:
- Join the Incoming Student “GroupMe”
- Upload a Photo for Student ID
- Read the Student Handbook
- Sign up for Safety Alerts
- and more!
Set up a Billing & Tuition Payment Plan
Once you are registered for classes you will be able to set up your payment plan. Student bills must be paid in full or have a payment plan in place before classes start for the semester.
Update Stephens Profile Information
Update your preferred name, mailing address, pronouns, emergency contact information, and more.
Order your Textbooks
Find what materials are required for your classes and get the best value on textbooks and course materials through Stephens’ official online bookstore.
Register Your Vehicle & Buy a Parking Pass
Bringing a car to campus?
You’ll need a Student Parking Pass to park in designated lots.
You’ll need the following to complete registration:
- Driver’s License
- Insurance information
- License plate number
- Vehicle identification number
- Set your browser to allow pop-ups
- Select the Group (Stephens College Security)
- Click “Write New Online Permit Registration”
- Choose the appropriate permit type
- Select “Annual” for permit period
- Select the appropriate affiliation
- Complete all information blocks in Step 2
- Complete all information blocks for your vehicle in Step 3
- Review all information
- Finalize the purchase
