Where You’ll Study

The Center for Health Sciences is purpose-built for collaboration and hands-on learning. Expect high-tech classrooms, a fully equipped anatomy lab, faculty office suites, and dedicated student study and gathering spaces — all designed to keep you engaged and connected.

Take a Tour

First Floor: Administrative and faculty offices anchor the first floor alongside flexible classroom space. The Phyllis Southall Henigson Foyer and Symposia Center honors alumna Phyllis Southall Henigson ’54, whose $1 million gift helped launch the program.

Second Floor: A skills lab and simulated exam rooms bring the curriculum to life. Each exam and observation room is equipped with the latest technology for simulation training and clinical skill development.

Third Floor: The gross anatomy lab features advanced equipment and connects to dressing areas and spaces for study and group discussion.

Lower Level: Break-out rooms, meeting spaces, and student lounges make the lower level a hub for collaboration and downtime.

About the Building: Originally built in 1947, Sampson Hall has served Stephens College for decades. The renovation honors its classic red brick exterior and original architecture while introducing bold modern touches — expansive glass windows, an open foyer, and contemporary finishes.

Campus Life

Sampson Hall sits at the gateway to the Stephens College campus, giving you the best of two worlds:

  • Campus life; Historic grounds, dining options, green spaces, and all the energy of a vibrant college community
  • Downtown access; Step outside and you’re in The District, Columbia’s lively downtown, packed with restaurants, shops, music venues, and more

Grab lunch at Stephens Dining Hall one day. Walk a block to a local favorite the next. It’s all right here.
