Camp Stephens

Led by experienced instructors, coaches, student athletes and supportive student mentors, Camp Stephens programs are designed to spark confidence, encourage collaboration, and make summer unforgettable.

Whether your child is stepping into a research lab, riding in our historic stables, or joining teammates on the court or field, they’ll be learning, growing, and having fun every step of the way.

Academic Camps

Children’s School at Stephens College

CSSC Summer Program: Ages 3 (Toilet Trained) – Rising 3rd Grade

Weekly in June & July (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm) | Cost: Sign up per week at $255/week, Sign-up for all 6 weeks = Reduced Cost: $245/week

Summer at The Children’s School is a season of discovery, creativity, and joyful learning. Rooted in our child‑centered philosophy, our full‑day weekly camps invite children ages 3 (toilet trained) through rising third grade to explore, play, and grow in a nurturing environment. Guided by experienced teachers with degrees in education, campers engage in inquiry‑based activities that spark curiosity and support both social and intellectual development. With exciting weekly themes—from Color Chaos and Construction Zone to Mission: Possible and Water Week—each session offers hands‑on adventures designed to inspire imagination all summer long.

The CSSC Summer Program is led by the Children’s School at Stephens College. The summer program will be held at the Children’s School (Hickman Hall, 1200 E Broadway, Columbia, MO 65201)

Equestrian Camps

Equine Science Camp: 8-15 yrs

Five Day Session: June 1-5 (8am-12pm) | Cost: $550

Welcome to our Equine Veterinary Camp, specifically designed for those with a passion for horses. This camp offers an opportunity to explore equine medicine while experiencing hands-on learning and while visiting local equine facilities. 

Horsemanship: Summer Riding Program: 7-14 yrs

Five Day Session: June 15-19 (8am-12pm) | Cost: $550

Welcome to our Horsemanship Camp, specially designed for individuals with no prior horse experience who are eager to immerse themselves in the world of equine care and management. This camp offers a unique opportunity for participants to experience a “day in the life” of an equestrian, providing hands-on learning to develop a deeper understanding of horse care and handling. Led by experienced instructors, our Horsemanship Camp promises a supportive and nurturing environment where participants can learn, grow, and develop a deep appreciation for the bond between horses and humans.

Equestrian Camps are led by the Stephens College Equestrian Department. Camps will be held at the Stephens College Equestrian Center (205 Old 63 N, Columbia, MO 65201).

Ragtag / Filmmaking Summer Camp

Want a fun and creative way to beat the heat? Join us this July for Ragtag Summer Camp! Enjoy five full days of immersive film critique and filmmaking workshops for Columbia area middle schoolers, led by the Ragtag Film Society team in partnership with The Conservatory at Stephens College.

Details:

Monday, July 20th – Friday, July 24th
8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Arrive between 8:00 – 8:30 AM at Ragtag Cinema
Pickup between 3:00 – 3:30 PM at Stephens College

Each participant must bring their own sack lunch; popcorn & light snacks provided.

Monday-Thursday, kids will watch and discuss a film in the morning at Ragtag. In the afternoon they’ll walk to Stephens College, where they will participate in workshops that will breakdown individual aspects of the filmmaking process. As they build their skills throughout the week they will create a short film that will be screened on Friday, which family and friends are encouraged to join!

Open to community members aged 11 – 14; films and film discussion will be geared towards this age group.

Cost

$325 per student for the week
$250 for each additional sibling
Needs-based scholarships available upon request.

Sports Camps

Have some fun with Volleyball, Soccer, Softball or Basketball this summer!

The Stephens College Department of Athletics offers summer sports camps for young athletes and prospective collegiate athletes! Camps are led by the Stars’ experienced coaching staff and current Stephens student-athletes.

All Athletics camps require registration on the Stephens College Athletics website.
