Family & Friends Weekend at Stephens College is a special time for students to share their campus experience with the people who matter most. Over two days, families can enjoy a mix of campus activities, community events, and time to explore Columbia together.
From tours of the historic Stephens Stables and interactive art sessions to s’mores under the stars and performances by the Conservatory of Performing Arts, the weekend offers something for everyone.Whether you’re reconnecting with your student, meeting their friends, or discovering the charm of our campus and city, it’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the Stephens community.
We’re excited to welcome you to campus for our Family & Friends Weekend festivities the weekend of Friday, Oct. 3rd – Saturday, Oct 4th.
Weekend Programming
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3RD – Arrival & Relaxation 🌆
Families are encouraged to settle into Columbia, connect with their students, and enjoy the city.
- 11:30 AM–1:30 PM – Optional Lunch in the Cafeteria 🍴/ Location: Stamper Commons
- 12:00–1:00 PM – Susie’s 15% Off Special 🛍 / Location: Stamper Commons
- Stop by Susie’s Clothing Store and grab your Stephens Merch!
- 5:00–7:00 PM – S’mores / Location: Residential Quad🔥
- Enjoy a cozy fall evening with s’mores by the fire, live music, and great company.

- 7:30 PM – Legally Blonde Performance 🎭 / Location: Macklanburg Playhouse
- Presented by the Stephens College Conservatory of Performing Arts

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4TH – Campus Fun & Conservatory Show 🎉
- 10:00 AM – Family Photos 📸 / Location: Journey Plaza by The Chapel
- Capture the moment with your student at a designated photo spot on campus.
- 10:15 AM – Interactive Activity Options
- 🎨 Paint & Sip (non-alcoholic): / Location: Kimball Room LRW
- Self-guided painting session with coffee, tea, and juice. Take home your artwork as a memory.
- Activity for kids will be available (hosted by SLATE)
AFTERNOON – Freetime
- Enjoy Columbia at your own pace:
- Stroll through The District (shopping & cafés)
- Visit Stephens Lake Park for fresh air
- Relax at a local coffee shop or explore with your student
Conservatory Showcase
- 6:00 PM – Pre-Show Parent Reception 🥂/ Location: Macklanburg Playhouse Lobby
- Light snacks & drinks for all families (faculty and staff are invited)
- 7:30 PM – Legally Blonde Performance 🎭 / Location: Macklanburg Playhouse Lobby
