Based on Studs Terkel’s bestselling book, this newly updated version features songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Stephen Schwartz, James Taylor, Craig Carnelia and other acclaimed composers. Told through a series of moving, funny, and relatable monologues and songs, Working shines a spotlight on the voices of teachers, truck drivers, waitresses, caregivers, and more—honoring their hopes, dreams, and dignity. It’s a powerful, heartfelt tribute to the resilience and spirit of the American workforce.
