About Andrea Fifield

Dr. Andrea Fifield earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Auburn University in Alabama. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling, with an emphasis in School Counseling, as well as her Bachelor of Arts in English, from Truman State University in Missouri. Dr. Fifield is a Certified School Counselor. She served as a school counselor and Director of Guidance in rural Northeast Missouri prior to pursuing her Ph.D. She has served as a Counselor Educator for nearly 20 years, with prior teaching engagements in Georgia and Illinois. Dr. Fifield regularly presents at state and national conferences, and she enjoys collaborating with students and mentoring them through their first professional presentation experiences. Her research interests include the impacts of comprehensive school counseling programs on student development and the needs and challenges of rural counseling professionals. As avid science fiction fans, Dr. Fifield and her husband have twin sons who are named after Star Trek characters. In addition to spending quality time with her family and friends, Dr. Fifield enjoys reading, listening to music, watching her favorite TV shows, and outdoor activities.
