About Elizabeth Watson ’03
Beth Watson serves as the Director of The Children’s School at Stephens College and the Chair of the Education Program, where she continues to mentor and teach preservice educators. With more than 20 years of experience in preschool, elementary, and higher education, her work is grounded in a deep commitment to child-centered, research-informed teaching.
A Stephens College alumna, Dr. Watson earned her degree in Early Childhood Education and teaching certification before completing a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading at the University of Missouri. She later returned to MU to earn her PhD in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum, also with a focus on Reading.
