About Leslie M. Aguilar

Leslie M. Aguilar earned her B.S. in Spanish Education and her Ed.S. in Educational Technology from the University of Central Missouri. She earned her M.A. in Teaching a Second Language with an emphasis in Spanish from Bennington College. Before coming to Stephens, she spent 21 years teaching Spanish and AVID at the secondary level. As an AVID Coordinator, she supported and prepared students for post-secondary study and spent a considerable amount of time leading professional development sessions and supporting best teaching practices. Aguilar is an assistant professor in the education program and is excited to be the Program Chair for Secondary Education. She also works with employees in select school districts who are seeking teacher certification in an effort to address the national teacher shortage.
