We are beyond fortunate at CSSC to have access to the Hugh Stephens College Library. Our librarians curate a fantastic children’s section that keeps students excited about reading and brings new books into our orbit.

A few ways we use our library…

  • Multi-Age Elementary students walk over to the library weekly to explore and check out new books, read independently, and meet for weekly book clubs.
  • Younger students visit to discover new picture books, meet with librarians for lessons on what the library has to offer, and read and check out books.
  • Faculty and student teachers work with librarians to build text sets for units. For example, when finding books for a unit on castles, the librarians helped us find physical and digital texts we used for research and inspiration.
  • Recommendations! Our librarians always have excellent recommendations that become read-alouds in our classrooms.

Each student has a library card, and CSSC families have access to the library during library hours. Check out a book to read at home or browse the collection and enjoy a sunny, spacious reading paradise. For questions about borrowing, get in touch with Anne (librarian and CSSC mom!) at acox@stephens.edu.
